11 years ago today I came home from the hospital after successful surgery to remove a cancerous tumour in my kidney.

Things could’ve been very different… if I didn’t go to the hospital at the first and only symptom I may not be posting this status now. (P.S. if you have any symptoms at all, don’t brush it off as nothing, go and get yourself checked out it could save your life!)

Following that surgery I rested and healed for a couple of months, with visits from friends and family. It was one of those visits that got me encouraged to start a career as a financial adviser. Not long after I started at Prosperity Wealth as a receptionist with the aim of completing my financial exams to become a mortgage adviser.

Today I’m a fully qualified independent financial adviser, a pension transfer specialist and working towards chartered status.

It’s only when I look back at these 11 years where I realise how much I’ve managed to achieve in both my professional and personal life, sometimes it’s good look back and see how far you’ve come.
