Sunday 18 October is World Menopause Day. This year, the International Menopause Society is highlighting “Chronic Pain at Midlife” and the importance of better recognition and care.

Pain during and after the menopause transition deserves to be taken seriously. Everyone’s experience is different, and listening without judgement matters.

After a short spell on ‘the dark side’ 😉, we’re delighted to welcome Courtney back to Cleeve Financial Planning, joining our practice administration team.

Courtney returns with exciting ambitions: her goal is to study for her Level 4 advice exams, then progress through our academy, working towards becoming a fully qualified financial adviser.

🐾He’s a nine-week-old Sprocker, a Springer Spaniel and Cocker Spaniel cross, and with those floppy ears and that little face, how could we resist sharing a few photos?

🐾A very welcome visitor, although we might need to work on his office etiquette before putting him in charge of the stationery!

Will the April 2027 pensions and inheritance tax changes affect you?

Under the new rules taking effect on 6 April 2027, most unused pension funds will be included when calculating the value of an estate for inheritance tax purposes.

For many people, a pension is one of their biggest assets. From April 2027, it could also become an important inheritance tax (IHT) consideration. From this date, most unused pension funds will be included when the value of someone's estate is calculated for IHT purposes.

Today is World Alzheimer’s Day 💜

For many of us, Alzheimer’s and dementia are not distant issues, they have touched the lives of someone we know love or care about.

It can be incredibly difficult to watch a person you know change, and just as difficult for the families and friends supporting them. Days like today are an important reminder of the value of greater understanding, earlier diagnosis, continued research and, above all, compassion.

World Alzheimer’s Day gives us all an opportunity to recognise the millions of people living with dementia worldwide, as well as the families, friends and carers alongside them.
