All our clients have now received our 2026-27 newsletter from us, which helpfully summaries the new tax changes for the new tax year ahead and other important things to note. Our helpful newsletter also gives tips and advice on 'best practice' methods, whatโs new and much more! If for some reason, you havenโt received yours, please get in touch and talk to our helpful team.
๐ค Helpful things to note:
Self Employed - If you are self-employed, its likely that this is your year end and you can now get your books and records into us for us do your accounts. Doing your accounts at the earliest point shall give you the most time to save for any tax bills ahead and enable you to have a good/timely insight into how your business is doing financially.
Subcontractors - If you are a subcontractor, working in the CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) and have suffered any tax, you can now get your CIS statements into us so that we can see if a refund is due to you. The sooner we can do this; the sooner you can get the refund. HMRC is extremely busy this time of year and process refunds in batches depending on when they receive the request, so getting yours in now could mean that you are higher up in the queue! ๐
Employees - If you are employed and therefore receive a yearly P60, you should get this from your employer by 31st May 2026. When you receive your P60, always check that the tax you have been stopped by your employer is correct. If you have overpaid tax, you will need to see about getting a refund from HMRC.
ISA's - Final chance. If you have some tax-free savings allowance still available in your ISA/s, putting money in today up to your allowance could make the most of your tax savings. Be sure to check your terms and conditions on the ISA.
