We’re looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our limited company accounts team at SeavorChartered.

This role would suit someone with at least two years’ experience in an accountancy practice who is part or fully AAT qualified and looking for their next challenge in a supportive, modern firm.

You’ll be involved in preparing limited company accounts, VAT returns and tax returns, as well as responding to client queries and helping deliver an excellent service. The role is full-time, permanent and based in Carlisle.

This role would suit an ACA, ACCA or ICAS-qualified accountant with UK practice experience who enjoys preparing high-quality accounts and tax work, while also building strong, long-term relationships with clients.

You’ll work with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses across Cumbria and the surrounding area, with the opportunity to get involved in tax planning, management information, business advice and other client projects.

The role can be shaped around your experience and ambitions - whether you want to focus on accounts and tax, or gradually build and manage your own client portfolio.

📢 Companies House filing changes are coming - but businesses now have more time to prepare.

The changes to accounts filing will now take effect from 1 April 2028, rather than April 2027.

A key update for small companies and micro-entities is that, while a profit and loss account will still need to be submitted to Companies House, businesses should be able to opt out of having it published publicly.

That’s welcome news for small business owners who were concerned about sensitive financial information being visible on the public register.

From 1 April 2028, all companies will also need to file their annual accounts using commercial software, as web and paper filing routes will close.
