Back to work, back school and a welcome back to the sunshine.

It was trailed in advance over the weekend, and as expected, the Government has announced national insurance and dividend tax increases to “fix social care”. See our full blog on The Government announcement below.

HIGH TAX BILLS!

Outside of the 1.25% NIC increase, it has been estimated that half a million sole traders and partners may face higher tax bills than expected next year if the Government’s proposal to change the date businesses report their profits is approved. Further details in our September newsletter.

As the roadmap to opening up continues, which is seeing more businesses open up, and more individuals returning to work, a monthly survey of independent economists by the Treasury suggests that growth this year could be as high as 5.7%, up from the 4.7% predicted in March. Investment is expected to rise 7.4%, with unemployment expected to peak at 6.2%.....
