You will need to register if your turnover or rental receipts exceed £50,000.

It has been announced that you can now claim 55p mile if you use your vehicle for business journeys, this is back dated to 1st April 2026.

Accountant - a non-regulated term.

Anyone can call themselves an accountant. You need to make sure they have got the skills needed to advise you properly. Make sure they are qualified, check them on their regulatory bodies register, ask for insurance details, have they got a practicing certificate. They should have their own agent access to HMRC, they shouldn't need your personal or business ones.
