What is a payment on account?

- Payments made in advance towards your tax bill.

- You are required to make a payment on acc if your last self ass tax bill was more than £1000.

- Each payment is half your prev years tax bill.

- Payments are due by midnight on 31st Jan and 31st July.

- In some cases, you can apply for reduced payments but seek advice from your accountant.

Did you receive a letter from HMRC stating you needed to make payment on account towards 2023/2024 tax year based on your previous tax return?

Well if so please note the deadline to pay this is 31st of July 2024! If this isn't paid to HMRC by the date stated then penalties will be added.
