With interest rates on the up, your savings might be earning more - great news! But are they also silently racking up a tax bill? 💰

Many aren't aware that since 2016, banks pay savings interest without tax deducted. While the Personal Savings Allowance (PSA) lets you earn some interest tax-free (£1,000 for basic-rate taxpayers, £500 for higher-rate, £0 for additional-rate), higher returns mean more people are now exceeding their allowance.

The responsibility to declare and pay any tax owed falls on YOU. Ignoring it could lead to an unexpected bill later.
