PAYMENTS ON ACCOUNT!!

If your Tax Return is over £1,000 you will see a Payment on Account on your Tax Return.

This is a prepayment of tax for the next financial year.

If you meet the threshold, HMRC will ask you to make two advance payments:

First payment: due by 31 January, alongside your previous year’s balancing payment.

Second payment: due by 31 July, typically 50% of your previous year’s tax bill.

If your VAT quarter is 01 February 2026 - 30 April 2026, then your VAT return is due in to HMRC on the 7th!!

Make sure you've submitted and paid that return by the 7th. Unless you are on DD and then you just need to submit the return before 7th and the DD will come out on the 10th!

If you are due a refund then make sure you still submit that return and if you have set up your bank account, it should automatically go into your account!

If your Limited Company year end is 31 August then your accounts will need to be filed at Companies House in 7 days time...

If your Limited Company year end is 31 August then your accounts will need to be filed at Companies House in 7 days time!

Hopefully they have been completed but if they have not, then please make sure they are done on time otherwise Companies House will fine you... and nobody wants that!
