⚠️ Company directors – a quick heads up!

ID checks at Companies House are starting to roll out. If you're a company director or person with significant control, you'll need to get verified. For most people it can be done online or at selected Post Offices.

It might sound like another bit of admin, but it’s one to get on your radar early to avoid any last-minute stress. Have a read below to see what it means for you 👇

Landlords – this one’s worth checking 👀

Rental income isn’t always as straightforward as people think. The tax and National Insurance rules can catch people out, and in some cases could even affect things like your State Pension entitlement.

Definitely worth understanding the rules and making sure there are no surprises further down the line 💷

When renting out property, landlords may have both Income Tax and National

Little tax changes can quietly creep up on people without them even realising 👀

Had a pay rise recently? Sounds great (and it is!)… but it could also mean more of your income is creeping into a higher tax band without you noticing.

Worth keeping an eye on so there are no surprises and you can plan ahead 💷

The freezing of tax thresholds can result in a phenomenon commonly referred to

Small business owners 👇

Did you know there’s a VAT scheme where you only pay HMRC the VAT once your customer has actually paid you?

For businesses waiting on payments or juggling cash flow, this can make a big difference and help take some pressure off.

Not every business will qualify, but it’s definitely worth checking if it could work for you.

Sometimes a small change can make life feel a bit lighter 💷

The VAT Cash Accounting Scheme can help businesses improve cash flow by allowing

Self-employed or a landlord? A little heads up 👇

With Making Tax Digital rolling out, choosing the right software now could save you a lot of headaches later.

Not all software is created equal — some can link straight to your spreadsheets, some make bookkeeping easier, and some can save you a lot of time (and stress!).

The right setup isn’t about picking the fanciest option… it’s about finding what actually works for your business.

If you're not sure what software would suit you best, now’s a good time to start looking at your options.

Little reminder 👇

Just because you’re on PAYE doesn’t always mean your tax is fully sorted. If you’ve got a side hustle, rental income, self-employed earnings or other untaxed income, you might still need to register for Self Assessment.

I speak to quite a few people who assume PAYE means HMRC have everything covered… then get a surprise later on 😬

Worth checking now rather than dealing with penalties or stress further down the line.

Depending on your income and circumstances, you may need to register for

Quick tax heads up 👇

If you spend time living, working or travelling abroad, your UK tax position might not be as straightforward as just counting the days you’re here.

Things like family ties, work ties and other connections can all play a part in deciding your UK residence status — and that can affect how you’re taxed.

Definitely one of those areas where getting it right can save a lot of stress (and potentially money) later on 💷
