If you’re providing expenses or benefits to directors or staff, these may need to be reported on a P11D

Common examples:
• Private medical insurance
• Company cars not pool cars
• Staff accommodation
If it’s not processed through payroll, it usually needs reporting.

Key deadlines:
• P11D submission: 6 July
• Class 1A NIC payment: 22 July (19 July if paying by post)
Missing these can lead to penalties from HMRC.

The new tax year is here, so here’s a quick reminder of what’s changed from the 6th April 2026

National Living Wage increased to £12.71
Dividend tax rates now 10.75% (basic) & 35.75% (higher) No changes to personal tax allowance or dividend allowance. Employment Allowance to claim £10,500 (eligible businesses only). 2025/26 tax returns due by 31 January 2027
