๐ข๐ตโช MATCH REPORT | BLYTH TOWN OVER 40s 6โ1 WALKERGATE FC OVER 40s โช๐ต๐ข
โฝ ANOTHER THREE POINTS! BLYTH KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING! ๐ช
On Saturday, we welcomed Walkergate FC Over 40s to Gateway Park, looking to continue our excellent league form and add another three points to our tally for the season.
The game got underway in sunny conditions, and it didn't take long for Blyth Town to show their intentions, with Craig Frazer opening the scoring to give us an early lead.
From that point onwards, Blyth were firmly in control. It wasn't a question of whether we would score more goals, but when! And we didn't have to wait long before Daniel Dawe grabbed his first of the afternoon to make it 2โ0.
Blyth continued to create chances, but whether it was a bit of bad luck, some excellent goalkeeping or a combination of both, that third goal proved frustratingly elusive.
However, as we've seen throughout the season, this team knows how to stay patient, trust the football we play and keep pushing forward. A clever, quickly taken free kick caught Walkergate out, allowing Neil Blades to produce a brilliant finish and make it 3โ0.
And just before the break, Scotty Henderson added a fourth to give Blyth a commanding 4โ0 advantage at half-time. Leaving little doubt about where the three points were heading!
๐ SECOND-HALF CHANGES, SAME BLYTH DOMINANCE!
With such a healthy lead, the management were able to make changes at the break and give all the subs valuable minutes on the pitch.
It wasn't long before one of those changes paid dividends, as Andy Watson got himself on the scoresheet with a fantastic finish at the end of a brilliant all-round team goal. โฝ๐
Daniel Dawe then capped off another fine performance with his second of the afternoon whilst wearing the armband after taking over the as captain when Craig Frazer took a well-deserved rest.
Unfortunately, we couldn't keep a clean sheet, with Walkergate grabbing a scrappy goal towards the end of the game. It was little more than a consolation, though, and did nothing to dampen the spirits of the Blyth lads.

Another convincing performance, another six goals and, most importantly, another three points!
The lads continue to show the quality, confidence and togetherness that have been the foundation of our excellent start to the season. The goals are coming from across the team, the football is flowing, and everyone is contributing to the cause.
A very efficient afternoon's work at Gateway Park! ๐
๐ NEXT STOP: SUNDERLAND!
Next weekend, we head to Wearside FC looking to carry this momentum into our next league fixture and hopefully bring another three points back to Blyth.
Well done, lads. Let's keep this going! ๐๐๐ค
