Today, we're celebrating Carol Renshaw's 35 years with Bates Weston!
Carol joined what was then Bates Foston in 1991 at the age 25. When she arrived, the firm had only just moved into its current office at The Mills, which at the time was half derelict. There was a single, shared computer in the office, internal memos were still hand-delivered to desks, and Partners spoke ambitiously about the future that “one day, everyone will have a computer on their desk.”
Colleagues have been a hugely defining part of Carol’s time here, and the camaraderie, laughter, and day‑to‑day support across the firm have shaped her professional life. Carol’s 35 years have been filled with iconic moments, from her creative approach to tea making – sometimes forgetting to put the tea bag in the mug, or if she did remember to put the tea bag in, forgetting to take it out - to getting stuck in the lift more than once.
Carol’s loyalty, humour, and dedication have made a lasting mark on Bates Weston, and she has built wonderful, decades-long relationships with clients. Please join us in congratulating her on this remarkable milestone!
