One of the biggest misconceptions I come across is that financial advice is only for people with lots of money.

The reality is, many of the people I help are simply looking for clarity.

They want to know if they're saving enough, whether they're making the most of their pension, how to plan for the future, or what options they have available to them.

Financial planning isn't about how much money you have today. It's about helping you make informed decisions with whatever stage of life you're currently in.

Sometimes a conversation can provide reassurance.
Sometimes it highlights opportunities you hadn't considered.
And sometimes it simply helps you feel more in control.

If you've ever wondered whether financial advice is "for people like me", the answer might surprise you.

A client of mine recently asked whether they'd be better putting money into a pension or into a savings account.

The truth is, there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer.

What matters is understanding what you're trying to achieve, when you'll need access to the money, and how that fits into your wider plans.

That's why good financial planning starts with the person, not the product.

The right solution for one person may be completely wrong for someone else.

Sometimes the most valuable part of my job isn't recommending a solution – it's helping people understand their options and make informed decisions with confidence.

At some point, money conversations become less about money... and more about time.

Time to do the things you enjoy.
Time with family.
Time without constant pressure or worry.

For many people, financial planning isn’t about having more.

It’s about creating more choice.

More flexibility.
More freedom.
More space to live life the way you want to.

And that looks different for everyone.
Because the goal was never just money… it was the life around it.

Financial planning isn’t something that happens once and then gets ticked off a list.

Life changes.

Priorities shift.
Circumstances evolve.
New questions come up over time.

That’s why ongoing advice is less about “having a plan”…

and more about having someone to come back to.

Someone who understands your situation.
Someone who can help you think things through.
Someone who can keep things feeling clear and manageable.

It’s a relationship — not a one-off decision.

I don't do this very often, but I wanted to share something a little personal today.

When I started out on my self-employed journey as a Financial Planner nearly 5 years ago, I honestly wasn't sure how it would go. Building something from scratch, around a busy family life, with all the self-doubt that comes with that, it has been overwhelming at times.

But you all showed up. You have trusted me with some of the most important financial decisions of your lives, you have recommended me to people you care about, and you've kept showing up. And because of that, my business has grown more than I ever expected.

So first, thank you. Genuinely from the bottom of my heart.  I wanted to do this role for many years but I held myself back.

Because of that growth, I'm making a decision that feels scary to say out loud but is the right one,  I'm limiting the number of new clients I can take on over the next few months. I'm focusing on the clients I am currently working with, the behind-the-scenes work,  investing in my processes, systems, making sure that every single client gets the experience they deserve and that I want to deliver. So please bare with me ❤️

But,  if you've been thinking about working with me and keep putting it off, now is the time to drop me a message. I'm keeping a small waiting list for people who want to get started and as soon as I can open some space then I will contact you first.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me. It means more than you know

It might sound surprising, but financial planning doesn’t usually begin with numbers.
It starts with questions like:

What do you want life to look like?
What matters most to you?
What would “feeling secure” actually mean for you?

Because without that…

Numbers don’t really mean very much.

A plan only works when it reflects your life — not just a set of figures on a page.

That’s why understanding your goals always comes first.
Everything else builds from there.

One thing people often say to me is:

“I wouldn’t even know where to start…”

And that’s completely understandable.

Reaching out to a financial planner can feel like a big step — especially if you’re not sure what to expect.

But the first conversation is usually much simpler than people imagine.

It’s not about numbers straight away. It’s about understanding you.

Your situation.
Your priorities.
What’s on your mind.

Often, it’s just a chance to talk things through and get a bit more clarity on where you stand.
No pressure. No obligation. Just a starting point.

On the surface, that's what people come to talk about.

But underneath, it's usually something else.

Security.
Freedom.
Options.
Peace of mind.

A pension is just one part of the picture.

Good financial planning isn't about focusing on a product -
it's about understanding what matters to you and building around that.
