Cleaning up the Rivers of Berkshire with ARK - Action for the River Kennet



One of our High Wycombe based Paraplanners, Andrea, has recently been volunteering with Action for the River Kennet to remove some Himalayan Balsam along a stretch of river Enborne in Berkshire, which flows into the River Kennet.

The River Kennet is one of England’s most important chalk streams. Stretching approximately 45 miles, it is the largest tributary of the River Thames and, during the summer months, contributes up to half of the Thames’ flow.

Chalk streams are internationally recognised as rare and fragile ecosystems, with only around 260 existing worldwide and the vast majority located in England.
