🌞“Great British Summer Savings”🌞

Government is introducing a temp VAT cut from 20% to 5% on certain hospitality and leisure activities.
It's targeted and short term running from 25th June to 1st Sept 2026,

✅️ INCLUDED :
•Children’s meals in restaurants/cafés (eat-in only- not valid on take-away)
•Must be clearly marketed as a children’s menu item

❌ ️NOT INCLUDED:
Adult restaurant meals (still 20% VAT)
•Takeaway food
•Alcohol or extras
•Most standard hospitality activity (pubs, dining, drinks, hotels)

🗣 WHAT'S NEEDED:
•Systems, menus, and tills will need to be updated
•Correctly identify qualifying items
•Apply the correct VAT rate during the period and revert it to 20% from 1st Sept

This is not a broad VAT cut for the whole hospitality sector.
