It was great to hear from Sustainability Manager David Clayton-Fish and Rory Wood, who shared valuable insights on financial sustainability and the challenges and opportunities ahead.

The session was followed by UK Economist Daniel Mahoney, who provided an engaging overview of the current economic landscape and his outlook for the months to come.

📢 New HMRC Advisory Fuel Rates are now in effect

HMRC has published its latest Advisory Fuel Rates (AFRs), effective from 1 June 2026, for employees using company cars for business travel.

The updated rates include changes to several petrol, diesel and LPG vehicles, with increases and decreases depending on engine size and fuel type. The electric vehicle rate remains unchanged at 7p per mile.

Advisory Fuel Rates are used to:
✔ Reimburse employees for business mileage in company cars
✔ Calculate repayments where employers provide fuel for private mileage
✔ Help ensure reimbursements remain tax-efficient and compliant with HMRC guidance

If your business operates company vehicles, now is the time to review your mileage reimbursement rates and payroll processes to ensure they reflect the latest HMRC figures.

Are you an employer who provides expenses or benefits to your employees or directors?

You might need to complete a P11D form at the end of the tax year.

Examples of expenses and benefits include:
⭐ Company cars/vans available for private use
⭐ Health Insurance
⭐ Childcare
⭐ Subscriptions or professional fees

The deadline for submitting a P11D form to HRMC is 6th July.

Meet the Team | Faye

Faye joined Armstrongs in December 2023 and brings over 8 years of practice experience. She manages our Virtual Finance Office, supporting clients with their bookkeeping and VAT needs.

MAAT qualified, Faye works with a wide range of clients across different sectors. She specialises in management accounts and providing real-time financial insights to help businesses stay on top of their day-to-day operations.

Outside of work, Faye enjoys spending time with her two children and fiancé, as well as keeping active at the gym.
