A memory popped up today from July 2013, when my name appeared in the Financial Times after achieving a Distinction in the CISI Private Client Investment Advice & Management qualification.

PCIAM is a highly regarded Level 6 qualification covering the key principles of private client investment advice, portfolio construction, taxation, risk and financial planning.

At the time, it was an important personal milestone. Looking back now, it also represents another step in a much longer journey.

Three years later, we founded Dean Stevens Wealth Management. Today, I am proud to be a Chartered Fellow of the CISI and even prouder that Dean Stevens Wealth Management has achieved CISI Chartered Firm status.

Qualifications alone do not make a good financial adviser, but committing to high professional standards, continuing to learn and using that knowledge to look after clients properly will always matter.

A lovely memory and a reminder of how far we have come.
