Running your own business is not for the feint hearted. You need optimism, tenacity, commitment along with the skills and knowledge to navigate a rapidly shifting global market place.

This is a sand dune in Abu Dhabi, and that little dot is my son who had the enthusiasm to climb and take a peak over the top.

It may have just been more dunes, but he got there and was so proud of himself for achieving that climb.

Feeling a little accomplished.

Started my accountancy 6 years ago, with the tagline "demystifying your accounts to empower your business"

Changing accountant is a tough decision to make. I recently onboarded a Xero based sole trader.

Today, open email from said happy new client to read:

"In just the few conversations we have had, I have understood and learnt more than I have been told in the last 5 years"

This brings me such joy. 😊

Brand alignment??

This old picture popped up and I had to share it. This resonates in particular this week as a new client said "I've asked around and everyone says you are really good, so I know you'll be my accountant"

Almost 6 years as an independent accountancy practice.

Running a ltd company now feels like wading through treacle. Employer NI at 15%, national living wage increases, energy costs the earth, margins are shrinking and small businesses are failing.

ONS data showed that 32% of trading businesses saw turnover fall month-on-month a the end of 2025, before the latest round of costs filtered through.
