Time for a change and no it's not a scam before you ring / email to check 😂

From today you will notice brand new invoices from ourselves, as we embrace the digital world. This is to help reduce admin time so we can prioritise our time where it really matters 😊 Plus they look so much nicer 👌

Invoices will now be done through Xero and you will receive an email with a summary of your invoice along with a PDF attachment of the invoice in full. This now highlights the amount due and the date payment is due. Please note we are strictly 7 days, no excuses. Reminders will now be automatic for those who can't follow instructions 😉

We will close at 4pm today to enjoy a 3 day weekend 😍 before returning on Tuesday for the mayhem that is September 😊

Suddenly every month feels like January, the only difference is they fly by in seconds!

That's what you call a successful start to July 😊 and having clients so organised really helps make our life less stressful, so a massive thank you!
Now time to enjoy the weekend and forget about the hundreds still to submit 😂

MTD... Here we go 😬
The first quarterly submission is now due for the period April - June. Emails have been sent so check your inbox 👀

This is a learning curve for us all and until the first submission is completed we have no idea how it's going to go 🙈

Please ensure your records are up to date ASAP so we can plan accordingly as there is a lot of behind the scenes setup involved for this one.

We would appreciate your patience this month, the work load is huge with the new MTD deadlines, which just so happen to coincide with a huge VAT quarter and they will take priority. It's like January again but a lot hotter 😂

Right now everything is rather chaotic navigating all the changes and supporting all our clients through difficult times. Nothing is straight forward 🤯

Throw in MTD coming at us 100mph from July and quarterly reporting, all of our team will be taking some annual leave in June to ensure we're raring to go and ready to tackle a killer July 💪

During the next few weeks we may be unable to answer calls or we may take longer to reply to emails than usual. If you do receive an out of office and it's urgent please reach out to another member of the team, if not we will respond on our return 😊

Please bear with us, honestly you have no idea the challenges we're facing on a daily basis 🤯

Based on changes made last week by HMRC, you can now claim 55p per mile for travel allowance, backdated to April 26 as opposed to the old rate of 45p (for the first 10,000 miles). Above 10,000 miles, the rate is staying at 25p per mile.

You know the one. A shoebox that arrives every year like a proud little delivery of chaos. Packed with crumpled receipts, half torn invoices, faded bits of paper that may or may not be from this decade, not forgetting the crumbs, mould, grease… and occasionally something that makes you pause and ask “why is this even in here” 🤭

MTD means we have no choice but to get strict and your box of 's**t' is no longer acceptable. We simply don't have time to be flattening receipts, squinting at faded ink and questioning our life choices 🤦 if you can't be bothered why should we 🤷

Here is the truth. Most clients are more than capable of using the tools they are given to provide their records in an orderly fashion. It is not about ability. It is about habit 🙄

And sometimes, a gentle nudge in the form of 'we no longer accept your s**t' is exactly what is needed to move from chaos to control 🙌

The box of shame might be funny.

But a clean set of books? That is the real deal and what we expect moving forward 😊
