Making Tax Digital: your next deadline is 7 November
Self-employed or a landlord with qualifying income over Β£50,000? Your second Making Tax Digital quarterly update is due to HMRC by Saturday 7 November 2026.
This one covers your income and expenses up to 5 October 2026 (or 30 September if you use calendar quarters).
β
The key points:
πΉ Submit it through MTD-compatible software. Paper or HMRCβs old online form wonβt do.
πΉ Itβs a summary of totals, not a tax bill. No payment is due with your quarterly update.
πΉ Had a quiet quarter? You still need to send an update.
πΉ Missed August? HMRC isnβt giving penalty points for late quarterly updates this first year, but donβt let it become a habit, because that grace period wonβt last.
π‘ Our tip: 7 November is a Saturday, so aim to have it sent by Friday 6th.
Not sure if MTD applies to you, or want someone to handle it for you? Send us a message or give us a call. Weβre happy to help. π
