Last week our team headed out of the office and into York for Team Building Day! 🌍

We took on the challenge of Race Across the World: The Experience, and it's safe to say some team members have better navigation skills than others...👀

At IFP, we believe Team Building Day should be about taking on challenges in different environments, whilst having fun! 🤩

We've found that taking time to strengthening relationships outside the office leads to better collaboration and outcomes, along with an unbeatable culture. 💙

And somewhere in the back of your mind, a quiet question is forming…

Can the business actually run properly without me for two weeks?

It's worth considering, not as a criticism, but as a genuinely useful signal.

Because a business that runs smoothly without you isn't just an operational nice-to-have.

It says something important about what you've built, how much it depends on you personally, and ultimately what it's actually worth to someone else, or to your future self.

Most business owners we speak to haven't quite joined those dots yet. Not because they haven't thought about it, but because there's always been something more urgent to deal with first.

Trust is built slowly, and transparency is a good place to start. 🤝

Research from Unbiased found that seven in ten financial advisers don't publicly display their fees online, and 21% of consumers don't know how they're being charged.

That's a lot of people making significant financial decisions without a clear picture of what they're actually paying, or what they're paying for. 😬

We think that's worth changing.

At IFP, our fees have always been published openly on our website. Not buried in small print, not something you have to ask about after a few meetings, just there, clearly, with worked examples of what ongoing advice looks like in practice.

Because before any of the planning, the pensions or the strategy, there has to be a conversation you can trust. And that starts with knowing exactly where you stand.

Say hello to Elliott, our Data Technician Apprentice! 👋

Elliott might be one of the newer faces at IFP, but his role is already making a real difference behind the scenes - streamlining the data and compliance processes that keep everything running smoothly, so the rest of the team can spend more time doing what they do best.

What does he love most about working here?

"The constant support from colleagues and the friendly atmosphere I've been welcomed into."

Outside the office, Elliott is a man of many talents.

He's been solving Rubik's cubes since lockdown (with a personal best of 19.1 seconds 🤯), builds high-end gaming PCs in his spare time, and has a deep appreciation for 90s and 00s Japanese and German cars.

Oh, and he shares his home with four gorgeous cats:
