We all know how much difference the people around you make.

A good team you actually like turning up for, and someone leading it who's genuinely in your corner - you can't put a price on that. It's the difference between a job and a career. 🤍

So, this is Sarah. 👋

She leads our paraplanning team, and she's looking for an experienced pair of hands to join her as a Senior Paraplanner.

Here's the thing we'd want you to know about her.

When Sarah describes her own role, the first thing she mentions isn't her technical work or the reports; it's support, training and guidance.

That's how she sees the job. Looking after her team comes first, and the expertise comes after.

Happy Yorkshire Day. 🤍

We say we're a Yorkshire firm, and we mean it.

Our main office is based in Hessle, many of our team are from round here, and the people we look after are largely our neighbours.

But being local is about more than where our office is.

It's about building relationships that last for years, understanding the people and businesses in our community, and being here when our clients need us.

Being independent means we're free to recommend what's right for each client, without being tied to specific products or providers.

Being Chartered means we're committed to the highest standards of professionalism, knowledge and expertise.

Put together, it means the only people we answer to are the ones sat across the table from us.

There aren't many firms in East Yorkshire that can say all of that. We think it's worth saying out loud, at least once a year. 😊

Nobody warns you that you might actually make proper friends at work. 😄

Yet, here we are!

At IFP, we spend a lot of time doing serious things - pensions, tax, long-term planning, the stuff that genuinely matters to people's futures.

But somewhere between the team days, the office Olympics and the approximately one million cups of tea… it stops just feeling like a job.

That's not something you can put in a job advert; it just sort of happens when you put the right people in a room together and let them be themselves. 💛

Who keeps the wheels turning between our clients and providers? Meet Lydia, the calm in the financial admin storm. 👋

Lydia is a vital part of our Client Services team, serving as the key link between advisers, clients and providers.

Whether it's chasing paperwork, booking meetings, or handling queries with care, she’s the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.

Outside the office? Lydia’s the definition of balance:

📺 Cosy nights with Netflix and snacks
✈️ Sunny getaways (Turkey is her fave!)
🪂 And yes, she’s parasailed and paraglided!

Last week our team headed out of the office and into York for Team Building Day! 🌍

We took on the challenge of Race Across the World: The Experience, and it's safe to say some team members have better navigation skills than others...👀

At IFP, we believe Team Building Day should be about taking on challenges in different environments, whilst having fun! 🤩

We've found that taking time to strengthening relationships outside the office leads to better collaboration and outcomes, along with an unbeatable culture. 💙
