How much of your money is currently sitting in somebody else's bank account?

You've done the work.

You've sent the invoice.

You've made the sale.

But until the customer actually pays you, none of that puts money in your bank.

It's surprisingly easy to get used to customers paying late. Someone who always pays at 45 days starts to feel normal, even though your terms say 30.

And if you're busy, chasing an invoice is probably somewhere near the bottom of the list of things you want to spend your time doing.

But those unpaid invoices can mean you're effectively funding your customers while still having to pay your own wages, suppliers, VAT and other bills.

So here's this week's Profit for Thought.
