For We Are Inverurie, Scotland's Town of the Year means the bigger picture.

That picture being our town centre where generations of independent businesses continue to trade alongside new entrepreneurs, professional services and major national names.
It is business occupancy remaining exceptionally high, town-centre footfall increasing and four major banks plus a building society continuing to maintain a physical presence in Inverurie.
It is thousands of visitors coming into the town for our Christmas Festival, Taste of Garioch and Garioch Pipe Band Championships.
It is more than 180 hanging baskets and the volunteers who spend their time making Inverurie look welcoming.
It is community art, heritage projects, events, investment, advocacy and new ideas.
And it is organisations being prepared to work together.
We Are Inverurie BID exists first and foremost to promote, support and champion the businesses which make Inverurie special. But, making Inverurie stronger for business inevitably means we work with the wider town too – Inverurie Events, Evolving Inverurie, Inverurie Environmental Improvement, Inverurie Community Council, Inverurie Business Association and the many businesses, charities and volunteers contributing every year.
Sometimes one organisation leads. Sometimes another funds. Sometimes local businesses sponsor or support. Sometimes volunteers simply roll up their sleeves and make something happen.
Scotland’s Town of the Year recognises the result of all of that combined effort.
To everyone who has invested here. Everyone who has volunteered. Everyone who has organised something. Everyone who has supported a local business. And everyone who keeps believing in what this town can become.
We should be incredibly proud of how far Inverurie has come.
Now we keep going.
🏆 Scotland’s Town of the Year 2026.
