Exciting update 🚗

Mileage allowance for cars/vans is increasing from 45p per mile to 55p per mile*.

This would be backdated to 6th April 2026.

The same applies to everyone who is self-employed using simplified expenses.

Reminder -

This is a simplified expenses mileage rate, so you cannot also claim separately for fuel, insurance, vehicle tax, servicing, or other running costs.

*Up to 10,000 business miles. After 10,000 miles, the rate remains 25p per mile.

Apparently everyone’s discussing living arrangements, tax declarations, and who paid for what this week… 👀

Which is a perfect reminder that:
