🚨 HMRC is getting more crypto data through CARF.

But my main concern is not just tax compliance.

It is security.

Crypto data is not ordinary financial data. If wallet, transaction or platform information is mishandled, the risks could go beyond an HMRC enquiry.

In this video, I cover what CARF is, what RCASPs are, HMRC’s response to my security question, and why I still think this needs careful attention.

More data does not automatically mean better compliance.

And if crypto data is going to be collected and shared, we need a serious conversation about how it is protected.
