🌱 Spring 2026 kept markets on edge.

UK inflation cooled slightly (3.3% → 2.8%), rates stayed at 3.75%, and the FTSE 100 clawed back March losses thanks to defensives, exporters and later a cyclical rebound. Bond markets stayed twitchy, but consumer confidence helped lift sentiment.

In the US, geopolitics and rising oil prices rattled investors, yet stocks roared back after a soft Q1. Big tech and AI names led the charge. Inflation stayed stubborn, the Fed held rates at 3.5–3.75%, and confidence lagged even as markets hit record highs.

Spring 2026 brought volatility and easing UK inflation, with equities rebounding globally despite geopolitical risks, rising yields and persistent inflation pressures.
