Young people spend over 11,000 hours in secondary school, yet very little of this is dedicated to financial education, the foundations they'll need for the rest of their lives.

We want to change that because we believe every young adult deserves the right financial education.

Following the success of our first Mini-MBA in Money Management, we're bringing it back.

Our 90-minute live webinar is built specifically for 16 to 22-year-olds, covering the financial lessons most people only pick up much later in life - from interest and inflation to credit scores, budgeting, and avoiding debt traps. The kind of grounding most of us wished we'd had earlier.

Inheritance remains one of Britain's biggest taboos and our new YouGov research reveals the scale of the problem.

More than 6 in 10 people have witnessed family conflict over inheritance, yet most over-55s are still choosing to pass on wealth after death rather than gifting during their lifetime.

With 1 in 4 having never discussed it with their family, and care costs now overtaking Inheritance Tax as the biggest concern, the need for earlier planning has never been clearer.

As Adeline Christy, our Wealth Management Director, puts it: "Many inheritance disputes arise not because of the value of an estate, but because expectations have never been discussed."

Applications for our January 2027 Mattioli Woods Financial Adviser Academy cohort are now open.

At Mattioli Woods, we've always believed that great advisers are built, not just hired. The Academy is how we do that – a fully salaried, 12-month structured programme that takes talented people from trainee to qualified financial adviser, with everything they need to succeed along the way.

We invest in our people from day one:
• Full salary throughout the programme
• Funded professional qualifications (R02–R06)
• Genuine one-to-one mentoring from experienced Mattioli Woods advisers
• Real client exposure under expert supervision
• Nine months of dedicated coaching and support after graduation

Our Client Bazaar is all about giving.

We were thrilled to host evenings in both Rayleigh and Sheffield, each brought to life by the wonderful local businesses we were so delighted to collaborate with. They shared their expertise and knowledge for a truly educational evening. We were spoiled with everything from top tips from a local estate agent on increasing the value of your home, to the best flowers for every season from a florist, and the incredible benefits of Pilates for keeping you moving at any age.

A huge thank you to our Events team for bringing it all together across both locations. We had an evening of connection, celebration, and community. It was the perfect opportunity to pause, come together, and show our clients just how much we appreciate them.

And we're not stopping there - we can't wait to take the Client Bazaar to Derby next!

Swapping the office for a day at the pitch!

What an incredible day – the heat couldn’t dampen the spirit of everyone who came out to take part in tigers touch rugby with Leicester Tigers.

From the laughs to the fast passes, it was the perfect opportunity to step away from our desks, challenge ourselves and strengthen the bonds that made the teamwork great.

And to top it all, a well-earned BBQ to wind down, catch up and connect with some familiar faces and a few new ones too!

A huge well done to everyone who took part and made it such a memorable day. Here is to next year!

Inheritance remains one of Britain's biggest financial taboos and our new research reveals just how many over-55s are avoiding the conversation, and what they don't know about Inheritance Tax (IHT).

- 1 in 4 over-55s have never discussed inheritance with their family

- Only 35% know that pensions could be subject to Inheritance Tax from April 2027

- Just 15% understand key IHT allowances like the nil rate band (NRB)

Last week, our team took on the Edale Skyline Challenge in support of Youth Adventure Trust, a charity that gives young people life-changing outdoor experiences.

A long walk around the Edale Valley linking five summits: Win Hill, Brown Knoll, Mam Tor, Back Tor and Lose Hill. Despite the gloomy weather, the team conquered 20 miles, 1,100 metres of elevation, and 8-10 hours on their feet and the views made every step worth it.

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part, raising an incredible £20,000 for such a worthy cause!

Today is the day! The incredible team at Mattioli Woods is out in the Peak District, facing the massive Edale Skyline Challenge to raise funds for the Youth Adventure Trust. 🥾🏔

Ahead of them lie 20 miles of unforgiving terrain and over 1,200 meters of ascent. They are pushing their limits so that our vulnerable young people get the opportunity to discover their own confidence and resilience.
