Happy World Youth Skills Day!π
Today we're celebrating the skills, curiosity and ambition that help young people build rewarding careers.
We asked Ellie and Lewis what inspired them to pursue a career in accountancy and which skills they believe are most important for success.
π¬ Lewis was drawn to accountancy through his enjoyment of numbers, problem-solving and attention to detail. He believes accuracy is one of the most valuable skills in the profession and highlights the growing importance of adaptability and digital skills as technology continues to evolve.
π¬ Ellie took a different route, studying psychology before discovering a passion for analysing data, identifying patterns and supporting business decision-making. She says analytical thinking and communication have been invaluable in her career and believes adaptability will be essential as AI continues to transform the sector.
π‘ Their advice? Be willing to learn, ask questions and stay curious. You don't need a finance background to succeed in accountancy, many transferable skills, from problem-solving and communication to attention to detail, can help you build a successful career.
This World Youth Skills Day, the team at Saul Fairholm are proud to celebrate the next generation of professionals and the skills that will shape the future of our industry!
