Sometimes, the clearest way forward is to stop going round in circles and have the right conversation.

We recently had a situation where phone and video calls weren’t quite getting to the root of what was needed.

There was confusion around what the client expected from their management accounts, what the board needed to see, and what information would actually be useful.

So, when it became clear that a proper face-to-face discussion would make the difference, we made that happen.

That meeting helped clarify:

📊 what the management accounts needed to show

💬 what the client was trying to explain

📌 what expectations still needed to be agreed with the board

✅ what both sides needed going forward

A receipt, invoice or payment can be much quicker to deal with when we know what it relates to.

Even a short note like “materials for job”, “client lunch”, or “new software subscription” can save time later.

Simple information at the start helps keep the records clearer behind the scenes.
