🤔Did you know you can prove your identity for Companies House directly at the Post Office? - this is not what we recommend, but this option is also available.
Under the new rules introduced by Companies House, all directors and Persons with Significant Control (PSC) must verify their identity in order to legally operate a company in the UK.
👉 If you cannot complete the process online, there is also a physical option via the Post Office.
How verification at the Post Office works (in short):
- Enter your ID details online
- Receive a document (customer letter) with a QR code
- Go to the Post Office with the document and your original ID
- Your QR code and ID will be scanned, and a photo will be taken
- Wait for confirmation of your verification
✔ The process is free
✔ You must attend within the deadline, usually around 15 days
However, you are not required to go to the Post Office. You can verify your identity using the GOV.UK One Login app, or through an authorised agent (ACSP).
👉 𝕀𝕟𝕟𝕠𝕧𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖 𝔸𝕔𝕔𝕠𝕦𝕟𝕥𝕤, as an authorised provider (ACSP), can help you complete your identity verification quickly and correctly, without unnecessary trips or complications.
Once verified, you will receive a code that can be used for all applications and actions related to Companies House.
