Position: Management Accountant

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term

Salary: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

We are currently looking for a Management Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have some experience within the hospitality sector and have a keen eye for detail and high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities:

· Preparation of monthly management accounts for Sites complete with P&L’s, variance analysis and commentaries

· Monthly balance sheet reconciliation

· Manage the weekly forecast reporting. Assist the business with periodic analytical information

· Revenue accounting – reviewing sales postings ensuring any issues relating to bookings and accounting for revenue in EPOS are resolved

· Banking reconciliations and resolving any banking issues

· Book relevant month end journals – accruals, prepayments, stock, depreciation, deferred revenue

· Fixed assets accounting - guide the accounts assistant on asset classification and manage Fixed Assets module including posting depreciation journals

· Assisting with budgeting and forecasting

· Assist with maintaining cash flow model and cash flow forecasting

· Provide guidance and support for the accounts assistant making sure Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger functions run effectively

· Assist with year-end audit

1 Week to go until outdoor dining is allowed! - have you got your Re-opening plans mapped out?
Couple of things to have in mind that will help you better navigate through this period:

Re-opening Budget – this is critical and should be in place by now, but if for any reason you do not have one now is the time to get it done. It will help you fully understand your business needs, and more importantly it will give you clarity on your cash position which in turn will help you make the right decisions at the right time.

Cash flow – from replenishing stocks, a bit of improvements or repairs to deferred debt payments; there will certainly be an initial outlay of cash before businesses can reopen properly. The success of your business often depends on how healthy your cash flow is and how well it’s managed, so make sure you are fully clear on the cash position as it will save stress further down the line when reopening is underway.

Pricing – price increases (provided they do not significantly impact demand) have a direct impact on profits, so a good opportunity for you to review your menu pricing. Do your competitor analysis and make sure you are not missing out.
Even if no price increases can be made you will benefit from the 5% VAT reduced rate, which will have a positive impact on your business (the 5% VAT rate that applies to food and non-alcoholic beverages at hospitality businesses has been extended to 30 September 2021).
