The Bank of England MPC voted (7-2) to hold rates steady at 5.25%. The 2 dissenting votes were for a 0.25% cut to 5% - not surprising given inflation is sitting nicely at the 2% target level.

UK rental inflation is at its lowest for 2 1/2 years according to Zoopla's latest UK Rental Market Report. But the rate of increase is still at above-inflation pace, with y-o-y growth of 6.6% (8% excluding London):
