We are looking for an Accounts Semi Senior to join our team. This is a varied role for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, preparing accounts, and delivering a high standard of service. The position would suit someone who is organised, proactive and comfortable managing deadlines in a busy practice environment.

➡️ The role

· Preparation of limited company and sole trader accounts
· Preparation of management accounts
· Corporation tax work
· Liaising with clients and colleagues to obtain information and resolve queries
· Supporting the team in delivering a high standard of client service

➡️ About you

· Qualified by experience, or a minimum of AAT qualified
· Strong communication and organisational skills
· Able to manage deadlines and work efficiently
· Proactive, reliable and keen to take ownership of your work
· Committed to providing a professional and helpful service to clients

➡️ What we are looking for

You will be someone who can demonstrate initiative, work well as part of a team, and build positive working relationships with both clients and colleagues. A practical, hands-on approach and a willingness to take responsibility for your work are important in this role.

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax is now here, and many taxpayers may still need to take action.

From 6 April 2026, sole traders and landlords with gross income from self-employment and/or property of more than £50,000 are required to use MTD, unless exempt. The threshold then reduces to £30,000 from April 2027 and £20,000 from April 2028.

This means keeping digital records, using MTD-compatible software and submitting quarterly updates to HMRC.

HMRC guidance confirms that taxpayers who are within the rules should be signed up and prepared before they need to use the service.

If you are self-employed, a landlord, or have both types of income, now is the time to check whether MTD applies to you and what steps you need to take.
