HR Absenteeism joke.....

Employee calls his boss "I won't be in to-day, not feeling at all well, bad headache and being sick"

Boss says - "I really needed you to work to-day. Whenever I'm feeling ill, I ask my wife for s*x ....it always works and a few hours later I'm back at work"

Employee says "I'll try that". A couple hours later, the employee rings back and says "I'm feeling fine now and I'll be into work in the next 20 minutes."

Boss says - "that's great, thanks so much - it always works"

Employee says - "no problem. By the way boss - you've got a lovely house"

Interesting discussion with a GP Surgery client on the subject of whether you should give feedback to a candidate after an interview.

There is no right or wrong answer and the employer isn't required to give feedback although some may argue it's good practice and common courtesy. On the other hand, we live in a society where someone somewhere wants to take us to court for something and try and get a few quid.

There are 2 sides to this debate - read my latest blog and understand the perspectives of candidate and employer and if you need HR Support, get in touch.

The majority of people who go for an interview will say that they receive little or no feedback, what are the rules?

In these difficult financial times, there has been a marked increase in the number of employees asking their employer for a loan.

Reminds me of a story many years ago when an employee approached their employer for a loan and asked if they could help. The employer immediately replied - "yes, I can help - I'll drive you down to the bank because that's what they're for".

Strong arguments for and against - read my latest blog. If you need HR Support, get in touch.

Take a look at the pros and cons of employee loans, whilst there is no right or wrong answer we explore the both arguments.
