An update from Sam Binstead, Investment Director at Chilvester

I wanted to share an important update about our leadership team.

Andy Tottman, our Managing Director, has recently been dealing with a serious health issue and has stepped back from his day-to-day role so he can focus entirely on his health and family. His focus right now is entirely where it should be.

Many of you will know Andy personally, and I appreciate this will be significant news for those who have worked closely with him. I know you will join me in sending him your very best wishes.

I want to reassure you that you will continue to receive the same personal service from Chilvester. Our management team — myself, Shane, Ian and Jess — together with our wider colleagues, will ensure the high standards of service you expect from us.

One of Andy’s core beliefs has always been that Chilvester’s strength lies in its team approach. He helped shape the business so that clients are supported by a collective, not solely by an individual adviser. That ethos is now more important than ever, and the whole team is ready to carry it forward in the way we look after you.

For those of you used to dealing with Andy directly, we will be in touch to confirm your main point of contact. In the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out to me personally with any questions.

Since 2016, we’ve had the pleasure of operating our Marlborough office at Angel House, building connections within the community, including several years of proudly sponsoring Marlborough Rugby.

As many of you know, since 2021, our team has primarily worked from our head office in Chippenham, with the Angel House office only open on a part-time basis.

Our plan over the coming years is to expand our geographical coverage. As well as our Chippenham head office, where we’ve now been in for nearly two years, we are investigating new meeting spaces in Bristol to be able to meet with existing and new clients alike.

After careful consideration, we’ve made the decision to close the Marlborough office from November 2024. This wasn’t an easy choice, but it allows us to better focus our resources and provide you with the most effective service.

As part of our bigger location plans, we are in the process of looking for a new location to the east of Marlborough, with our search primarily focusing on the Hungerford & Newbury area.

We want to assure you that this change won’t affect our commitment to you. For those who typically met with us in Marlborough, we’d be delighted to welcome you at our Chippenham office, or we’re happy to arrange a meeting at your home if that’s more convenient.
