For those in the CIS scheme now is a good time to start chasing up your CIS certificates as they will be required when preparing your self assessment. Go through your bank statements and check you have the certificates for prior months to save time later!

Making a payment to HMRC? Go to www.hmrc.gov.uk and follow - Paying HMRC. This will take you to Self Assessment and give you the options to make payment. You will need your UTR (Unique Tax Reference) and it is important to enter this correctly so HMRC can match the payment to your account. You can pay by card, by bank transfer, direct debit etc. You can also log into your government gateway account for more information. Pay before 31st January to avoid an automatic fine.
