A few months into our partnership with Northamptonshire County Cricket Club, we're delighted with how it's going.

It's been a fantastic start to the season, and we've loved welcoming clients to the County Ground to enjoy some brilliant cricket, great hospitality, and the chance to spend time together away from the office.

A huge thank you to everyone who has joined us so far. It's been a pleasure supporting the club and creating some great memories along the way.

Here's a look at some of our highlights from the season so far. We can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store.

Next up, we're looking forward to tomorrow's T20 Quarter Final. It promises to be a fantastic evening of cricket before all eyes turn to England v Argentina. A great day for sport! 🏏⚽

When someone loses the ability to make decisions for themselves, many families assume they can simply step in and help.

Unfortunately, it’s often not that straightforward.

If mental capacity is in doubt, it may already be too late to put a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) in place, leaving families facing the time, cost and complexity of a Court of Protection Deputyship application.

In our latest blog, Kevin Barrett explains why acting early matters, the key differences between LPAs and Deputyship, and what options may be available when capacity is uncertain.

🌍 UK businesses with overseas branches should take note.

From 1 January 2027, the UK government's changes to the taxation of foreign permanent establishments (PEs) will make the exemption of overseas branch profits and losses from UK Corporation Tax mandatory for most companies.

While this may simplify certain aspects of overseas taxation, it could have significant implications for businesses currently relying on overseas branch losses to reduce UK tax liabilities.

If your business operates internationally through branches, now is the time to review your structure and understand how these changes could affect your tax position.

What happens when wishes are never written down?

This powerful story is a reminder that Wills are not just about money or large estates. They are about clarity, protecting relationships, and ensuring the people you care about are not left with uncertainty during difficult times.

“The Promise That Was Never Kept” explores the emotional impact that can arise when intentions are assumed rather than documented.

If you have ever thought “my family already knows what I want”, this is worth a read.

What would happen to your business if you suddenly couldn’t make decisions?

Many business owners assume someone could simply step in. In reality, without a Business Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), your company could face serious disruption.

Bank accounts may be frozen. Staff and suppliers may go unpaid. Key decisions could be delayed while the Court of Protection appoints a deputy.

A Business LPA helps protect the business you’ve worked hard to build by ensuring the right people can act on your behalf if the unexpected happens.

For sole Directors especially, it can be one of the most important protections you put in place.

Read our latest blog to understand:
✔ What a Business LPA is
✔ Why it matters for business owners
✔ The risks of not having one
✔ How to protect both your business and personal interests
