A little introduction…

After 20 years working in accountancy practice, I’ve decided to set up my own business — Melton Accountancy & Tax.

I’m Samantha Melton FCCA ACA and I'll be offering friendly, straightforward accountancy and tax support to individuals and businesses, including accounts, Self Assessment, Capital Gains Tax, bookkeeping, VAT and Making Tax Digital.

For me, it’s really important that clients feel they’ve got someone they can actually speak to, ask questions and get clear answers from, without everything being made more complicated than it needs to be.

I’m based in Norfolk and can work with clients locally or further afield.

On Sunday I ran the Great East Anglian Run in Kings Lynn, for the 8:56 Foundation 💛 🖤

It has to be my favourite running event of the year, a time for the town to come together cheering the runners on, supporting local businesses and charities.

| HAPPY RETIREMENT |

We’ve been gearing up for this day for a little while now but today’s the day we wish Tracy the best of luck in her new chapter.

Tracy was the lady who gave me my first job in Lloyds TSB 22 years ago.
Since I then joined the team at Chalk Farm in 2018 she’s been the greatest support, offering kind words of advice & encouragement and giving the best service to our clients.

Her hard work and dedication have made a lasting impact.

She’ll be greatly missed by us all but we know she’ll be back for coffee ☕️

| INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY |

I was so honoured to be asked to be guest speaker at the East Anglian Women In Business International Women’s Day event at the Town Hall on Monday.

Thank you to Sarah Fairbrother & Sara Plummer for pushing me out of my comfort zone.

The theme this year was ‘Wellbeing’, with the chosen charity being The Big C so the task was to raise awareness of the importance of financial wellbeing for women.

I am so grateful to this networking group, whom I’ve been part of since I qualified.
They have given me so much support and confidence in that time and I’ve made some great friends along the way.

Thank you to Sarah, Sara and Geraldine for all the effort that goes into organising these monthly meetings and Ward Gethin Archer for sponsoring.

So, technically, I suppose I've spent my day off working.... BUT, what a fabulous day it's been with around 60 female businessiwners gathered at Downham Market Town Hall to celebrate International Women's Day!

Thank you so much to our hosts and event organisers Sarah Jayne and Sara Plummer of Ward Gethin Archer and today's speakers Shine: Coaching, Training, Retreats who took from imposter to icon, Laura from Ward Gethin Archer who talked about the impact of wills and power of attorney on wellbeing, Hayley Steeles Financial Planning Limited whose message was 'do something that scares you' (but not necessarily in a big way!) and Corrine from Big C Cancer Charity who told us all about the services they provide across the county (and thanked us for raising £800+ at today's event ).

I attended my first East Anglian Women in Business meeting back in 2019, before we'd even opened the doors of our Kip centre. And some of the women sat around the table have been supporters and friends ever since, celebrating every milestone with us.

This group really is an amazing source of support, encouragement and friendship, and if you are a local woman at any stage of growing and nurturing your business, you really need to be here.
