We might be accountants... but we're not serious all the time 😅

A little Team Fosse fun with a game of "Who's Most Likely To..." 👀

Some answers were very predictable... others definitely weren't 🤣

Watch along and see if you agree!

It's easy to assume that if you're busy, everything must be going well.

But being busy and being profitable aren't always the same thing.

That's why it's important to regularly check in with your numbers.

Understanding what's coming in, what's going out and what you're actually making helps you make better decisions for your business moving forward.

Don't just measure how busy you are.
Measure how your business is performing.

Meet Leonie! 🧡

We’re delighted to welcome Leonie to Team Fosse!

Leonie is ACCA qualified and brings with her 9 years of experience in practice. She has worked with a wide range of clients, supporting them with bookkeeping, VAT returns, accounts preparation, audits and tax returns.

She loves building strong relationships with clients and helping businesses feel confident and in control of their finances – something that’s really important to us at Team Fosse.

When she’s not at work, Leonie enjoys spending time with her young family. You’ll often find her out for a walk, enjoying a spot of shopping, or baking whenever she gets the chance. 🍰

Please join us in giving Leonie a warm Team Fosse welcome! 🧡

One thing we've learned over the years...🧡

Most business owners don't get into trouble because they ask too many questions.

They get into trouble because they wait too long to ask them.

Whether it's VAT, tax, payroll, expenses or something that just doesn't feel quite right, it's always better to ask.

A quick conversation now can save a lot of stress, time and money later.

That's why we're always happy to answer questions and support our clients throughout the year, not just when a deadline is approaching.

💷 Self Assessment Payment on Account Reminder 💷

If you’re self-employed or complete a Self Assessment tax return, don’t forget that your second Payment on Account is due by 31 July.

A Payment on Account is an advance payment towards your next tax bill, based on your previous year’s tax liability. It can often catch people out, especially if you’ve already paid your January tax bill.

✅ Due date: 31 July
✅ Make sure you leave enough time for your payment to reach HMRC.
✅ If your income has reduced, you may be able to reduce your Payments on Account, but only if it’s appropriate to do so.

Not sure how much you need to pay or whether Payments on Account apply to you?

📞 Get in touch with Team Fosse and we’ll be happy to help you understand your tax obligations and avoid unnecessary interest or penalties.

What is a P11D?

A P11D is used to report taxable benefits and expenses provided to employees or directors that haven’t been taxed through payroll.

Examples include:
🚗 Company cars
🏥 Private medical insurance
⛽ Fuel benefits
💳 Company credit cards
💰 Beneficial loans
🎓 Professional subscriptions (where applicable)

💡 Did you know?

Many employers are now choosing to payroll their benefits, meaning the tax is collected through the employee’s payroll during the year rather than being reported on a P11D.

Even if you payroll your benefits, you’ll still usually need to submit a P11D(b) if Class 1A National Insurance is due. The P11D(b) tells HMRC the total value of benefits provided and the amount of Class 1A National Insurance payable by the employer.

📅 Key dates to remember:
✔️ 6 July 2026 – Submit P11D and P11D(b) forms (where required) and provide employees with details of their benefits.
✔️ 22 July 2026 – Pay any Class 1A National Insurance electronically (19 July if paying by post).

⚠️ Looking ahead: From the 2027/28 tax year, payrolling most Benefits in Kind will become the default method of reporting to HMRC, replacing P11Ds for most benefits. However, employers will still need to complete a P11D(b) where Class 1A National Insurance is due.

Missing the deadline could result in HMRC penalties, so it’s worth checking your obligations now.

Need help with your P11Ds, payrolling benefits, or understanding your reporting requirements? Our team is here to help make the process simple and stress-free.
