💡 Is it actually a business expense?
Just because you paid for something from your business bank account doesn’t automatically make it a business expense.
The important question is:
Was this cost genuinely for the business?
Common expenses can include:
• Accountancy fees
• Insurance
• Software & subscriptions
• Advertising
• Business phone costs
• Office supplies
• Business travel
• Equipment
Some expenses, such as meals, clothing, vehicles and working from home, have specific rules. For example, normal everyday clothing usually can’t be claimed, but branded workwear often can.
My advice? Keep the receipt, make a note of the business reason and if you’re unsure – ask! 😊
It’s much easier to get it right from the start than correct it later.
