With all the debate about the inheritance tax , I wonder how many old farmers who have not yet singed over to a younger generation might just end it all to ensure there families have some left to continue with , farming is already a high stress high suicidal occupation, . But please don't , find someone to talk to , go see an accountant or financial advisor talk to your family..PLEASE

Well done to the farmers on the London rally, and well done clarkson who although the interitance tax will not be a problem for him , spoke very well on behalf of farmers everywhere. It's not just about the price of the land , but also the value of the livestock, and the machinery we need to do the job . Well done troops

The new inheritance tax is not going to affect the huge corporation farms that have multiple shareholders, "many of whom could well be politicians. It going to affect family run farms , that are often asset wealthy but running cash poor . Older farmers like myself trying to run a sustainable food production unit , with the hope to hand something worthwhile on to our family, or to retire comfortably if there no body coming up behind us . What will happen to the land when our sons or daughters can't pay Hmrc. Will it go to the government or be snapped up by the big corporations.
