Throughout 2026, we're showcasing our purpose-driven clients making a difference to people and planet.

🎬 Meet Six Inches of Soil!
This award-winning documentary follows three young British farmers standing up against the industrial food system and transforming the way they produce food. Created by Colin Ramsay and Claire Mackenzie, it's become a catalyst for change across Britain's farming landscape.

What started as a 90-minute film has grown into a comprehensive impact campaign – podcasts, educational resources, community screenings, and a book – all dedicated to soil health and regenerative farming.

We've supported them since 2022, managing their dual company structure (Ltd + CIC) and securing Film Tax Relief for four consecutive years. By handling the financial complexity, we've enabled their team to focus on creating compelling content that's transforming how we think about food and farming. 💚

How can we grow food whilst working with nature rather than against it?
For over three decades, the Agroforestry Research Trust has been answering this question through pioneering research into temperate agroforestry and perennial food systems. Founded by renowned forest gardening pioneer Martin Crawford, this carbon-negative Devon charity is demonstrating the environmental potential of well-designed agroforestry systems.

Making an Impact:

Martin's influence extends far beyond his 2-acre demonstration forest garden at Dartington. As author of seminal works including Creating a Forest Garden and How to Grow Perennial Vegetables, he has educated thousands worldwide about growing edible crops by mimicking natural woodland ecosystems.
The Trust operates multiple research sites totalling over 10 acres, trialling fruit and nut crops, developing forest garden templates, and exploring climate adaptation. Their work is genuinely carbon-negative—storing more carbon than they produce from all activities.

A Personal Connection: Our directors Fran and Pete attended one of Martin's agroforestry courses in 2009, which directly informed the design of Grapes Hill Community Garden, Norwich —a garden that continues to thrive today, demonstrating the lasting impact of Martin's work.
Why Martin chose TBLA: Martin was looking for an accountant who would understand what they're doing beyond just the financial sense. Since 2019, we've supported the Trust by freeing up staff time to focus on their core mission and ensuring compliance with charity requirements—because not all accountants understand the unique needs of charities.

Can regenerative agriculture actually be profitable?
https://triplebottomlineaccounting.com/good-small-farms-proving-that-regenerative-agriculture-can-be-profitable/

Good Small Farms near Stroud is proving it can be—and they're building the blueprint for a farming revolution in the process.
As small farms across Britain struggle with squeezed margins and rising costs, this pioneering regenerative farm is challenging conventional wisdom.

Their mission? To support 100 small-scale farms on regenerative journeys by 2030, demonstrating that ecological restoration and financial viability can go hand in hand.
Their approach rests on three interconnected pillars:

🌱 Biodiversity – actively reversing ecosystem decline through wildflower meadows and expanded hedgerows

👥 Social Capital – building a diverse 12-person team that brings resilience and fresh perspectives to farming

💰 Profitability – proving regenerative methods work as a for-profit business, not a charitable endeavour

In 2024 alone, they achieved Soil Association organic certification, delivered 600 veg and meat boxes, welcomed 100 schoolchildren for farm education, and launched new enterprises from eggs to tree nurseries.

Why they chose us: When Good Small Farms needed accounting support, they didn't simply look for technical competence—they sought a partner whose values matched their own. As founder Eric Walters says: "It is clear that Pete and Fran live and breathe the ethos of doing the right thing and believing that business can be a force for good."

Part of a thriving local and national regenerative farming and organic growing community within and outside our client base.

New Triple Bottom Line Accounting Blog Series:

Supporting Purpose-Driven Organisations

Throughout 2026, we’ll be showcasing a selection of Triple Bottom Line Accounting’s purpose-driven business and social enterprise clients. This series embodies our company’s purpose – a living statement we continue to refine through ongoing team dialogue: “to transform accountancy from opaque compliance into collaborative partnership – empowering purpose-driven SMEs with financial capability and reshaping the profession itself, so that investing in people, planet, and lasting impact becomes the norm.”
This week we're thrilled to announce our partnership with Pensions for Purpose as their fractional CFO and finance partner.

Pensions for Purpose is reshaping how the pensions industry approaches investment – accelerating the flow of pension capital towards positive environmental and social outcomes. Now, they're aligning their own financial management with these same values.

As fellow B Corps, we share a fundamental belief: how an organisation operates internally should reflect the values it champions externally.

Our team will be supporting Pensions for Purpose with strategic financial forecasting, day-to-day accounting, and carbon-reduction planning as they continue to grow with purpose.
Read more about why this partnership matters and what it means for purpose-driven finance: https://triplebottomlineaccounting.com/our-partnership-with-pensions-for-purpose/

🌍 Our 2025 B Corp Impact Report: Transparency Over Perfection

Two years into our B Corp journey, we're sharing our honest account of progress, challenges, and what we're learning along the way.

Key highlights since certification (2023):
📈 658% increase in volunteer hours (12→91)
💻 £6,156 invested in cybersecurity
🤝 154 purpose-driven clients supported
🌱 60 tonnes of carbon offset annually
👥 30% employee ownership, plus two co-working employers (60% women-owned)

But this isn't a victory lap. As Patagonia's founder Yvon Chouinard reminds us: "We do not have all the answers, but the fear of getting things wrong in the process cannot stop us from trying to get things right in the end."

Our clients tell us where we fall short. Our wellbeing surveys show room for improvement. We use AI whilst acknowledging its environmental cost. This report is our transparency tool—holding ourselves accountable to using business as a force for good.

Full report can be viewed and downloaded from our website:https://triplebottomlineaccounting.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/TBLA-stakeholder-impact-report-2025.pdf
