Dormant Companies: Are They Really as Inactive as You Think?

Many business owners assume that once a company stops trading, it simply drops off the radar. No sales, no activity, no worries... right?

Even a company you consider dormant can still be treated as active for corporation tax purposes. It doesn't take much. The UK Government is cutting VAT from 20% to 5% on children's activities this summer (25 June – 1 September 2026). That covers:
