🚗 SITE VISIT | Gorbals Tyre Centre

Last week, we swapped the office for the workshop and headed over to see one of our clients, Gorbals Tyre Centre in Glasgow. 👋

🔧 Gorbals Tyre Centre is an independent tyre and automotive specialist, providing everything from tyre fitting and puncture repairs to wheel alignment, balancing, servicing and brake work. They also offer a mobile tyre fitting service, bringing their expertise directly to customers across Glasgow and beyond

👀 It’s always different seeing a client’s business in action rather than just dealing with the numbers from behind a desk — and a visit to Gorbals Tyre Centre certainly gave us a glimpse into the people, equipment and day-to-day work that goes into keeping customers safely on the road

🚘 With more than 10 years of experience and a strong focus on straightforward, reliable service, the team have built their business around keeping customers moving — whether that means fitting a new set of tyres, carrying out repairs or coming out to a customer through their mobile service

Company Secretarial – the bit of running a Ltd company that’s easy to forget about 👀

Running a limited company isn’t just about keeping your accounts and tax up to date. There’s also a whole list of information that needs to be kept accurate and up to date with Companies House.

With the introduction of Companies House identity verification, it’s become even more important to make sure the information held on your company is correct.

We’re now almost a year into the new identity verification process, with directors and PSCs being required to verify their identity and obtain their own personal code.

One thing we’ve noticed through helping clients with this process is that, in some cases, information entered when companies were originally incorporated years ago hasn’t been quite right.

We’ve come across things such as incorrect dates of birth for directors and PSCs, which can cause issues when trying to complete identity verification.

The good news? We’ve been able to help correct this information for directors and get the company records back in order. ✅

It’s a good reminder that company information shouldn’t just be filed and forgotten about.

✔️ Previous accountancy practice experience

✔️ Great communication & client skills
✔️ Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
✔️ Good Excel/analytical skills

Experience with Xero onboarding, CIS, or preparing management/financial accounts would be a bonus!
