The Opportunity
Due to continued growth and the upcoming retirement of a valued team member in February 2025, we're seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our close-knit team of professionals. Working alongside Sue, Pam, Emma, Mary and Rebecca, you'll become an integral part of a practice that genuinely cares about its clients' success.
Key Responsibilities
● Prepare and produce accounts for corporate clients, partnerships, and sole traders
● Work with client software systems and Excel to compile financial information
● Assist with VAT calculations and Making Tax Digital submissions
● Support the preparation of Self Assessment Tax Returns using TaxCalc software
● Liaise directly with clients, building relationships and understanding their business needs
● Contribute to our proactive approach to financial management and tax planning
The Ideal Candidate
● Experience in accounts, finance, or bookkeeping - we welcome candidates looking to develop their career in the accountancy practice sector
● Confident communicator who enjoys building face-to-face relationships with colleagues and clients
● Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
● Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within our team
● Experience with TaxCalc software beneficial but not essential - training provided
● Genuine interest in helping businesses improve their financial management
● Preference for an office-based environment and in-person collaboration

Location and Work Arrangement
This position is based in our Penrith office on Devonshire Street. We believe in the value of in-person collaboration which is what our clients love about us, so this role requires on-site presence and would suit you if you like working in a small but busy office surrounded by hard working colleagues.
