Five questions to ask any financial planner before you hire them, Juniper included:

1. How do you charge, and how much?
2. Are you independent or restricted?
3. Who exactly will look after me?
4. What happens when markets fall?
5. What does your typical client look like?

The first is about cost. A clear answer tells you what the fee covers and when you will see it in writing. At Juniper, the fee level is indicated at the end of the Discovery Meeting and confirmed in writing before any work begins.

The value of investments and the income from them can go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invest.

Meet Esther Stamp, our Operations Manager.

Esther has been with Juniper for six years and makes sure everything behind the scenes runs as it should. For her, the best part of the role is a client having a smooth and positive experience of the firm from start to finish.

Away from work, she is a trustee of a domestic abuse charity and a mum of three. Her tea order is Yorkshire, a dash of milk, properly brewed.
