The team at Colyer Associates thoroughly enjoyed our Annual Practice meeting in Leeds on Friday with superb speakers including Dolly Waddell, Dolly partners with businesses who want their teams to enjoy their work whilst delivering excellent business results. Danika Priim a former Bradford Bulls, Leeds Rhinos and England forward and a truly inspirational speaker, along with Berrie Jasper SJP Technology Engagement Consultant who actually makes IT interesting!

We then all enjoyed a fabulous late lunch at Restaurant Bar and Grill.

To begin our charitable giving for 2025 we thought we would get ahead. In October 2024 we were one of 10 awards sponsors at the Yorkshire Children of Courage Awards. This event honours exceptional young people and raised over £80,000 with matching for the St. James's Place Charitable Foundation.

River Grimes Jude was the winner of the Compassionate Carer award (0-12), River was described as ‘a true gentleman with a heart of gold’. Photographed here with Michael.

Finally, it's time to get to know Michael, our Director and Charter Financial Planner!

I have become an avid mountain and road bike cyclist completing the Land’s End to John o’Groats challenge in 2019 🚲.

In 2003, I was the face of the Royal Naval Reserve calendar!

I thoroughly enjoy a fabulous lunch aboard a steam train🚂.

I can often be found in Dalby Forest with my two hairy bears!

I learnt unicycling, juggling and some close up magic during my RN service 🤹🏻‍♀️.

I rode on the footplate of the Harry Potter train on its inaugural journey🚂.

I have attended agricultural college and been cabin crew!

I have been down the world’s fastest Olympic bob sled run in Whistler, in a four-man sled – and loved It!

I enjoy watching a great game of rugby union with a Guinness to accompany🏉.

My mum is called Bunty, and yes that is what she was christened!

Now let's get to know Vicky...

I have two of my own horses; an ex race horse called Castles in the Air and a spotted pony called Starborn Night’s Ace, who keep me very busy!🐎

In my spare time besides horse riding, I love walking and exploring in the Yorkshire Countryside, with the Yorkshire Dales and Knaresborough being my favourite places for a day out.

I have never travelled abroad🌍.

Before starting at Colyer Associates, I spent 12 years working in children’s nurseries.

I can often be found “dog sitting” the family Labradors – the youngest being a cheeky chocolate Labrador puppy called Rolo!🐶

My favourite time of year is the agricultural and equine show season with Great Yorkshire Show, Bramham and Burghley being a definite on the calendar each year!
