Meet my little brother, Dude. At just 3 years old, he was diagnosed with 4H Leukodystrophy. Now, at almost 5, every day we get to spend laughing, talking, and walking with him is a precious gift. We know that one day, these simple joys will become impossible for him. The uncertainty of his future is the driving force for us to raise money, so he can live life to the fullest!

I'm often asked what my role as an Independent Financial Adviser entails...

We get confused with all sorts - Accountant? No, sorry, I can just about do my own tax return! 🤣

I think this, although humorous, sums it up well!

Most clients come to me with copious amounts of paperwork that they've been carefully filing away over the years. But they have absolutely NO idea what any of it means!

Particularly from pension companies, who like to send 20 pages of waffle and call it an Annual Statement, hoping that you'll be too confused to do anything about it... 🤦‍♀️

Being a young female in a predominantly male industry felt like a stumbling block for me, until I realised what an advantage it could be. 👩‍💼

I used to find myself needing to overachieve, overcompensate, never leave room for someone to question my capabilities... 🔍

Important things I've learnt along the way:

1. Be authentically you and believe in yourself. You are successful at your job for a reason.

2. Everyone starts somewhere. The role models in your life walked in your shoes once.

3. Be passionate about what you do. Your commitment and love for your job will help surpass any obstacles in your way.

4. Build up other women. Sharing experiences and lessons along the way will help them feel like they're not alone.

A huge shout out to the wonderful ladies who have helped me throughout my journey so far 🫶
