HMRC customers(!) who filed their 2024‌‌‌ to‌‌‌ 2025 tax return by 31‌‌‌ January‌‌‌ 2026 can expect a letter to be sent this month or in March‌‌‌ 2026, in order to register for MTD.

If for whatever reason a customer(!) does not receive a letter, it remains their responsibility to check if and when they need to use MTD for Income Tax.

If you’re a limited company, you can use the £150 annual event allowance to cover your Christmas meal, staff night out, or festive activity all tax-free.
